Salary increases for Ministry of National Defense employees are implemented by the government
On Thursday, the government passed an emergency ordinance that increases pay for those working in national security, defense, and public order institutions and offers benefits for participating in missions, exercises, and military drills.
This emergency ordinance covers the costs associated with planning and carrying out missions outside of the country as well as the establishment of special privileges for people in the Ministry of National Defense.
The government increases salaries for personnel in the Ministry of National Defense. The government adopted an emergency ordinance on Thursday, which provides for an increase in salaries for personnel in defense, public order, and national security institutions, as well as allowances for participation in missions, exercises, and military drills.
This is the emergency ordinance for establishing specific rights for personnel in the Ministry of National Defense and for expenses related to the preparation and execution of missions outside the national territory.
„Through this ordinance, a salary increase of up to 30% of the functional wage or base salary is granted for personnel in defense, public order, and national security institutions. Additionally, the doubling, compared to the year 2018, of the delegation allowance for personnel in defense, public order, and national security institutions is regulated. This allowance is for those participating in instructional missions, military exercises, and drills in camps or shooting ranges, with international participation or missions on Romanian territory lasting more than 48 hours and more than 5 km away from their permanent workplace,” said Government spokesperson Mihai Constantin.
In addition, a uniform legislative framework is established for the compensation of employees receiving training and continuing education, employees enrolled in career and rank courses, and employees attending full-time courses at universities.
Furthermore, in compliance with the existing laws for military personnel, the establishment of a legal framework is thought to grant professional soldiers and non-commissioned officers the opportunity for extra leave, study leave, and monetary reimbursement for unused leave.
