Inclusivity-Focused Research Project by Shape Robotics and KinetoBebe aims to revolutionize Therapy & Education through Technology
Shape Robotics, a leader in educational technology, is excited to announce a groundbreaking partnership with KinetoBebe, Romania’s premier network of Pediatric Rehabilitation Centers. This ambitious three-year research project will assess the impact of integrating ed-tech solutions into therapy for children with special needs. KinetoBebe will dedicate space in one of their therapy centers where the Shape Robotics team will deploy the Thinken Mobile STEAM system and train therapists. Over three years, this comprehensive project will blend technology with traditional therapy methods to enhance and innovate treatment approaches.
Recent studies show that integrating children with special needs into mainstream educational settings can boost their social inclusion and academic success. However, only 62% of these children currently have the opportunity to learn in inclusive environments. This partnership seeks to improve these statistics by leveraging Shape Robotics’ cutting-edge technology to enhance learning and social integration outcomes.
Mark Abraham, CEO of Shape Robotics, shared his excitement about the project: „At Shape Robotics, our commitment to research and innovation is at the heart of what we do, particularly when it can have a profound impact on society. We’re thrilled to partner with KinetoBebe, an organization well-equipped to leverage our technology to greatly enhance the developmental and learning processes for children with special needs. We believe our society must be inclusive and healthy, and our technology is designed to support this vision by creating adaptive and personalized learning environments.”
“In the program initiated with Shape Robotics, we will involve the entire team of the Southern Capital’s Recovery Center, which includes 6 physical therapists, 2 psychologists, and support staff. This initiative aims to incorporate procedural possibilities for the recovery of about 20 children per month with neurological, orthopedic, and developmental syndrome diagnoses, focusing on motor skills and exploring the use of technology in cognitive development. Additionally, the South center conducts group sessions for the harmonious development of children diagnosed with ASD, and we believe that digital solutions will add significant value in this context.” Raluca Chisu, Board Director at KinetoBebe
Key Focus Areas of the Research Initiative:
- Effectively integrating Shape Robotics’ educational tools into daily therapy sessions.
- Developing methodologies that enhance both cognitive and physical rehabilitation.
- Creating inclusive educational experiences that foster peer interaction and learning.
Shape Robotics and KinetoBebe are committed to advancing our understanding of how technology can be utilized to improve therapeutic practices and outcomes for children with special needs in various settings.
Raluca Chisu, Board Director at KinetoBebe, also commented on the new partnership: „This projectmarks a significant step forward in our mission to offer holistic and multidisciplinary therapeutic approaches. By integrating the Thinken technology, we will boost our capacity to provide personalized and effective treatments. We’re eager to witness the positive impact this will have on our young patients.”
