AVIS: ROMANIANS RENTED MORE CARS ABROAD in the first months of the year, COMPARED TO LAST YEAR

  • Italy, France, Germany, and Spain remained top choices among Romanians travelling on Easter vacations
  • India, South Africa, and Japan were among the less conventional destinations that Romanians chose to explore during this period

Avis, a global provider of mobility solutions, has seen a significant increase in the number of cars booked by Romanians during the Easter mini-vacation compared to 2023. Particularly for international getaways, as the number of Romanian outbound reservations continues to rise.

Italy, France, Germany, and Spain were the most sought-after destinations for car rental services this Easter season among Romanians. These European destinations have been consistently popular among Romanians for Easter vacations, continuing the trends from previous years.

However, Avis noticed an increase in long-distance journeys outside of Europe. India, South Africa, and Japan were among the less conventional destinations that Romanians chose to explore during this period.

„This year, the Easter mini-vacation coincided with the May 1st public holiday, encouraging Romanians to opt for vacations further afield. As the appetite for travel continues to rise, the demand for car rental services is also increasing. We are delighted to help more and more Romanians realize how easy it is to rent a car in 180 different countries through Avis,” stated Andreea Somnea, Commercial Director of Avis Romania.

As the demand for international travel grows and Romanians continue to explore various destinations, the Avis reservations department is ready to offer all the necessary information and country-specific requirements needed for a flawless rental experience. For instance, in Australia and New Zealand, an international driving permit from the ACR is required to drive a rental car, and in India and China, car rentals are with the provision of local drivers.

Adapting to the preferences of our customers, Avis strives to be a helpful and trusted travel partner for all Romanians travelling abroad, providing everything from small cars for city trips to minivans for large groups. Avis ensures that each car is rigorously checked after each rental and customers can expect to drive a new car with low mileage.

Avis remains committed to providing convenient and reliable car rental services to enhance travel experiences in Europe and further afield.
