Vital Alert, the revolutionary system that will save patients’ lives
Six teenagers from Cluj have created the first complex tech system, Vital Alert, for hospitals and nurses so they can receive alerts from patients. This revolutionary medical alert system, which could save patients’ lives, is unique in Romania.
Erik Ciotlăuș, Ioana-Daiana Drânda, Dan-Ioan Mustea, Irina Șușca, Alesia Voina, Zágoni Mátyás-Elemér are the six young inventors who joined the „100 Youngsters for Romania’s Development” campaign launched by Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania.
The system, which was created by these young people in just 6 months, will allow nurses to quickly receive alerts from patients in wards whose health has deteriorated suddenly. Miruna Brînzei mentored the teenagers, supporting them in creating the revolutionary system.
„It was a unique experience, we learned the steps, we managed to make a pretty good prototype, but there is still work to be done. There is still room for progress. It was the first time I mentored, and this will have a special place for me in my career,” said Miruna Brînzei.
The system consists of three components: a smart clock designed for nurses to receive alerts from patients, a patient dashboard through which patients can alert nurses in real time about their needs, and a dashboard that allows nurses to monitor the status of each room under their care.
The six teenagers joined Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania’s project – „100 Youngsters for Romania’s Development”. The campaign was launched as a celebration of national unity and identity and aims to bring to the forefront the stories and achievements of Romania’s most outstanding children and youth who, through their passion, dedication, and talent, have managed to make a name for themselves at national and international level.
The 100 talented young people who make us proud to be Romanian and who have distinguished themselves through outstanding performances will be included in the first catalogue of Romanian excellence, which will be launched at the end of this year. The project brings together the most outstanding young people in our country, who have distinguished themselves through outstanding performance in education, culture, sport, or innovation.
