„O SOLE MIO” Concert – canzonetas with tenor ŞTEFAN von KORCH, baritone ADRIAN MĂRCAN and pianist ALEXANDRU BURCĂ – on March 29 at Sala Dalles
The vibrant canzonetta „O Sole Mio”, the sentimental „Mamma”, or the charming „Santa Lucia” are just some of the reference tracks that tenor Stefan von Korch and baritone Adrian Marcan will perform during „O SOLE MIO” concert scheduled on March 29 at Sala Dalles, from 7:00 p.m. The show, which is part of the MUSICAL EXTRAVAGANZA series of events, proposes a sound journey through the beloved arias, canzonettas and zarzuelas, with a special emphasis on passionate and intense interpretation.
Tenor Ştefan von Korch says: „This concert is a unique opportunity for us to celebrate femininity and beauty through lyrical art. The public will have the chance to experience strong emotions and let themselves be carried away by the charm of an evening dedicated to the eternal grace and inspiration – the woman”.

He is the only Romanian soloist who took part in the China 2023 Tour together with the Orchestra Reino de Aragón from Spain, under the baton of conductor Ricardo Casero, during which he also performed on the stage of the prestigious Zhuhai Opera House. Ştefan von Korch is acclaimed for his remarkable acutes, which allow him to approach even the highest scores written for the tenor voice, such as the role in the opera „I Puritani.”
He has roles in 3 absolute national premieres: the opera „I Puritani” at the Romanian Opera in Cluj-Napoca (2016), the opera „La Sonnambula” by Vicenzo Bellini, which took place at the Virginia Zeani Festival in Târgu-Mureş ( 2018) and the presence on the stage of the Radio Hall in Bucharest in the absolute national premiere of the vocal-symphonic work „Messa di Gloria” by Rossini (2019). In 2022, he completed his repertoire with the title role in the European premiere of the show „Traiano in Dacia” by Giuseppe Nicolini, staged at the Romanian Opera in Cluj-Napoca.
Other milestones in his career include famous roles in operas and operettas presented on the biggest stages in Romania: „The Barber of Seville”, „The Elixir of Love” and „Falstaff” (Bucharest National Opera), „Rigoletto,” „The Merry Widow” and „The Merry Widow 2.0” – directed by Andrei Şerban, (National Opera from Iasi), „Rigoletto” and „The Barber of Seville” (Romanian Opera Cluj-Napoca), „The Merry Widow” directed by Mario de Carlo – (Romanian Opera from Timisoara) , but also on the stages of the Philharmonics in reference vocal symphonic works such as „Carmina Burana” by Carl Orff, „Stabat Mater” by Rossini and „Requiem” by Mozart.
Internationally, he has performed at Metropolitan Concert Hall Tokyo, Zhuhai Opera House, Nanjing Poly Grand Theater and Chongqing Grand Theatre, Kaiserslautern Opera Germany, Teatro Verdi Padua Italy, Zurich Music Academy Concert Hall, National Theater Bratislava.
He participated in „master-class” courses under the careful guidance of outstanding personalities such as: Ion Buzea (world-class tenor), Giuseppe Sabbatini world-class tenor-conductor, Vasile Moldoveanu (world-class tenor), Horiana Brănişteanu (soprano and university professor in Salzburg), international pianist-coach Vlad Iftinca, Ionel Voineag (Canto Academy of Music from Bucharest) and soprano Mariana Nicolesco. He won the Grand Prize at the national Ionel Perlea Song Contest, but he was also awarded internally and in the „Alfredo Giacomotti” contest.
From this year, the tenor Ştefan von Korch became the promoter of the Musical Extravaganza concerts, events that bring the lyrical scene closer to the public of all genres, at the Dalles Hall in the capital.
**Adrian Mărcan (Baritone)**
Adrian Mărcan is a baritone of the Bucharest National Opera with a vast national and international activity. He conquered the audience with interpretations full of sensitivity, depth and vigor, and among his successful roles are Don Giovanni in „Don Giovanni”, Figaro in „The Barber of Seville”, Count Almaviva in „The Marriage of Figaro”, Marcello in „La Bohème,” Belcore from „The Elixir of Love”, Enrico from „Lucia di Lammermoor”, Germont from „La Traviata”, Rodrigo di Posa from „Don Carlo”, Contele di Luna from „Il Trovatore” or Escamillo from „Carmen „etc.
In addition to the artistic activity in the country, he supported numerous tours abroad with the works from Brașov, Cluj, Iasi, Craiova in countries such as: Germany, Austria, Italy, Norway, Spain, Holland, Albania, Great Britain, but also in Japan .

Alexandru Burcă is a pianist at the Operetta and Musical Theater ‘Ion Dacian’ in Bucharest. Laureate of numerous international competitions.
