Restart Energy implements a new photovoltaic system for Kosarom company, worth 278,000 euros
• Investment worth €278,000 to pay for itself in about 4 years
• 899 panels, built on an area of 3,500 sqm, with a power of 400 kWp
• The solar panels will produce 10.425 MWh in 25 years, meaning a total reduction in energy costs of around €2.1 million
• Reduction of CO2 emissions by 131 tons per year and a reduction of radioactive waste by 1,3 kg per year
• The photovoltaic generators will be installed on the roof of Kosarom unit in Pașcani, Iași county
Restart Energy, one of the largest independent electricity suppliers on the local market, announces the signing of a new contract worth €278,000 with Kosarom company for the installation of 400 kWp photovoltaic generators.
The new project involves the installation of 899 photovoltaic panels on an area of 3.550 sqm on the roof of the Kosarom unit in Pașcani, Iași county.
The photovoltaic generator will produce 10.425 MWh over the next 25 years, reducing electricity costs by around €2,1 million. The investment will pay for itself in about 4 years.
The solar project covers about 11% of the company’s energy needs and will reduce carbon footprint by 131 tons and radioactive waste by 1,3 kg per year.
“Photovoltaic systems represent the safest and most efficient way to produce clean energy for a long period of time, with minimum maintenance costs. At the same time, those who invest in green energy receive tokenized carbon credits that they ca use on the RED platform, according to the consumption of green energy”, says Armand Domuta, General Manager Restart Energy.
„Kosarom has always been a company preoccupied by environment protection and green policies. We are interested in raising awareness on the importance of environment protection among our colleagues, we require that in commercial relations with business partners and we aim to consolidate an ecologist organizational culture. On the other hand, this investment in green energy ensures a consistent reduction of operational costs, considering it will pay for itself in less than 4 years”, says Teodor Florentin Apostol, Director General Kosarom.
In January 2021, Restart Energy signed a partnership with the American Investment Fund Interlink Capital Strategies, in Washington DC, to finance the development of 500 MW renewable projects in Romania by 2025, aiming to offer 100% green energy to all end clients.
In February 2021, Restart Energy successfully launched the first green convertible bonds, listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange market, under REO26 code.
In September 2021, following a 4-year development, Restart Energy launched another unique worldwide project, a platform based on owned certification blockchain technology for both carbon print and CO2 avoided to be eliminated in the atmosphere. The platform allows trans-actions between participants for environmental attributes and renewable energy, www.redplatform.com.
Every time someone plants a tree, clears a beach, consumes green energy or takes any environmental action, they can register this action on the RED platform. Once the data is validated in the platform, the equivalent CO2 footprint is calculated and tokenized carbon credits are issued that can be used to buy green energy or to obtain the cash equivalent. At the same time, a company can obtain carbon credits in the form of green tokens for their customers, through unique QR codes printed on products or purchase receipts.
